Would you believe if I said that I saw magic? Would you trust me, if I said I saw magic transpire and translate on screen? And that it has been exactly a week since I witnessed something I can safely call magic? Too many questions, I know, but all of them lead up to one GULLY and the BOY who rules it! If you still haven’t caught the drift, I’m talking about Zoya Akhtar’s latest directorial Gully Boy and the spell it has casted on me. I kid you not; it has seven days since I have seen the movie but the fever refuses to drop down!
Ranveer Singh’s power-packed rap and silences, Alia Bhatt’s feisty love and aspirations, Siddhant Chaturvedi’s maiden screen pop where he dropped the mic and countless other things, make the movie what it is. And that’s nothing less than magic! I know, I keep saying that but hey, can you blame me?
Like that was not enough, one can not help but tune into Apna Time Aayega during a Monday morning workout and Mere Gully Mein for some time after, followed by jamming to and trying to get the words of Asli Hip Hop right. And doing all of the above in a loop, all day, every day! Call me addicted, but I’m guilty as charged!
